Home » How We Can Help » Defining Your Space
What does this mean?
Making the most of your space, giving a room a focus and purpose, making it work for you and your family. This is the starting point from which creating your unique look will flow.
If you’re finding it difficult to get started on your project or have maybe lost your way I can help you to find your inspiration by getting to know you, your style, your ideas and your dislikes. I will work in collaboration with you to help achieve a vision how you would like your space to look, feel and flow.
Where does inspiration come from? It’s often closer to home than we think…our hobbies and interests, photos/colours from our favourite holiday destinations, or maybe the unique architectural style of your home. Or it might simply be that you want to create a particular mood….a calm, tranquil space to soothe you at the end of a hard day or colourful, funky space for a young teenager…there are endless possibilities.
Get Inspired
Here’s a small selection of some interior images that have inspired me:
Cool Scandi Chic
Source: Home Designing Monochrome, with fresh coloured accent cushions –the pared down Scandi look provides a great backdrop for showing off some simple colour/patterened accents. This is a great example of streamlined storage – keeping it white makes the space still feel open and the different textures on the curtains and soft add interest this fresh, stylish look. |
Classic Contemporary
Elegant and welcoming – the cool grey tones are complemented by the warm pale gold of the sofas. This neutral scheme is balanced and harmonious, sophisticated but still warm. The dark wood makes a statement, but it’s not at all heavy – the light coloured rug and the soft grey sheers on the windows keep the overall look light and airy. |
Bold Colour Statement
Bright colours contrasting with white and minimalist statement accessories – this is a brave contemporary look. What makes this contrasting colour scheme work is that the band of teal is kept fresh with crisp white on each side, the accessories have been kept to a minimum and the shapes are clean and simple. Traditional spaces and contemporary décor can work so perfectly together. |
Coastal Holiday Retreat
Source: Places to Stay in Whitstable – 32a West Beach Rustic quirky beach house meets New York loft apartment – this industrial vintage look uses orange and green earth tones to add warmth to this rustic space. A great look for a country cottage or loft style apartment. The contrasting orange and green go beautifully together and could work in many interior schemes. |
Art Inspiration
A beautiful work of art as the centrepiece – the Argentinian Photographer and Interior Designer, Alberto Pinto’s apartment in Rio showcases art taking centre stage in his living room. The interiors seem to be inspired by the colour and style of the art, yet the simple shapes of the furniture and only small accent colours ensure that the art work remains the main feature. |
